Dharma in the Pines

Nichiren Statue

The Maine Nichiren Shu Fellowship is an informal group practicing traditional Nichiren Shu Buddhism in Southern Maine. We meet on the University of Southern Maine campus in Gorham with the kind support of the USM Interfaith Chaplaincy.

Regularly scheduled meeting are held to study, learn and practice Buddhism. We also arrange frequent trips to our head temple in Haverhill, Massachusetts for those who desire more formal practice and study.

We are a small part of the Nichiren Sangha of Greater New England and are under guidance of the Rev. Ryuoh Faulconer who has come to us from the Nichiren Buddhist Temple of Portland, Oregon and who has been formally trained at the head temple at Mt. Minobu in Japan.
